The Kestrel 1000 can be easily switched between mph, km/h, ft/min, m/s, knots and Beaufort. Every Kestrel Wind Meter includes a large 1" user replaceable impeller mounted on a sapphire jewel bearing which starts rotating with the slightest puff of air. If you require regular calibration, just replace the impeller with a new one and your Kestrel 1000 is restored to like new factory calibration standards. Every Kestrel Meter is waterproof and floats! Extremely happy with this item and Weather Republic. We use our Kestrel when we go hiking. I purchased a cheaper anemometer from another outfit and quickly returned it due to wind speed inaccuracies. Love that it's made in the USA. The 5 year warranty is great but I don't think we will need it. The blades moves with the slightest puff of air as well. Ours shipped the same day it was ordered. |
